Did you know Dua Lipa’s origin country is nothing more and nothing less than ALBANIA?
Well, if you are reading this blog, of course you knew. And second, if you didn’t, I would say welcome to the club, but there’s no such club in this planet yet. So, yes, we can’t help saying over and over again she is one of us, ALBANIAN!
Dua is currently enjoying holidays with her boyfriend and her family in the southern part of the country, mostly around Ksamil, Butrint and Saranda, swimming in those crystal blue waters and soaking up the summer sun and it looks like she’s having an amazing time. The pictures and videos on her instagram profile show that clearly.

But why Ksamil?
Ksamil is located in the south of Albania opposite the island of Corfu, and has an extraordinary sea. Just a few years ago, very few people knew about this heaven on Earth. It used to be a small fishing village, or that was known as a place near the Butrint archeological park, but in recent years this has changed. Ksamil has become a key point of tourism in Albania. With a stunning beach and clear water, it is one of the beauties of this place. Also the prices are quite reasonable for all tourists.

I also loved the most recent post of hers, showing different pictures of South Albania, with no filters, no editing, wild as the coast is, fresh as its greenery and peaceful as its blue waters. Dua’s caption is “beautiful ALBANIA” and I can’t deny my heart melted when I saw that.

Dua Lipa has 69.7 million followers in instagram at the moment and around 4 to 5 millions actively engaging into her every post at any time, following up her next move. I wander if The Guardian, New York Times or any other big kid could reach these figures when promoting Albania. Probably not. Her voice, her face, her personality reach more hearts than any brand can and she is inspiring so many boys and girls through her art, encouraging them to follow their dreams.

She was earlier for a daily visit in Kruja, an historic Albanian city and visited the Skanderbeg Museum. Gjergj Skanderbeg Kastrioti is our national hero. Dua took a lovely photograph doing her eagle symbol, near the hero’s arms. Actually the replica ones.
Of all of Skanderbeg’s belongings, four objects remain: two swords, a helmet, and a prayer book. Currently the weapons (helmet and swords) are on display in the Collection of Arms and Armour at the Neue Burg (affiliated with the WeltMuseum) in Vienna after having passed through the hands of countless noblemen since the 15th century when they were first brought over to Italy from Albania by Skanderbeg’s wife, Donika Kastrioti. The prayer book is archived at the Shelley Publishing House in Chelsea, London in England. Funny right? None if them in the home country, Albania.
