History of Shengjin
Known in ancient times as Nimpheum, or else the land of fairies, as it is thought that between Shengjin and Velipoja there was a forest of fairies, its name would change several times. It woould be San Giovani di Medua, later Medea in honor of princess Medea of the Argonauts, St. Genius in honor of the church of the same name and Willson in honor of the American president are some of the names of this city along the history.
It is also known during the war between Pompey and Caesar in 48 BC as Mark Antony’s fleet landed here. This port, was considered as a perfect retreat for soldiers because the winds were isolated.
The city and the port near it, as well as the constant movements towards the historical city of Lezhe (6 km) are considered good reasons why you should stay on this beach. Traditional, folk, rock, ballad, soul and light music will be playing in the same bar or beach bar with you. In Shengjin you can enjoy the latest music trends and the latest entertainment during the evening and night. You can also have fun in clubs or night clubs located within the city of Shengjin.
Boat trips are available during the summer months, taking tourists to Rana e Hedhun, Rjolli and Rodoni Cape. Its beauty with the nearby mountain makes Shengjin an interesting place for outdoor activities, including camping, hiking, mountain biking, boat racing or kayaking.
Transportation is possible from the city of Lezha by car, public transport lines or by taking a taxi. You can also come to this beach by sea using personal boats with sails or small cruisers.
Beaches of Shengjin
Shengjini constitutes one of the most special marine tourist resources, not only of Lezha but also of Albania, especially considering the ecological park of the surroundings.
Despite its proximity to other beaches, the Shengjin beach is the most sought after by locals and foreigners. The variety of choices to stay, eat, entertainment opportunities and evening walks are good reasons why this beach has so many visitors.

Rana e Hedhun
Rana e Hedhun (Thrown Sand), famous for its sand hill, is a with crystal turquoise water and gray sand, so you don’t need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, families with children, seniors etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.

Bunker Beach
Considered such because of the bunkers nearby, this is a small beach where you can relax and be not disturbed by many people or loud music. The water is clean and you can also find sunbeds for a small price.
