Visit Tragjas and the ruins of Gjon Bocar’s castle

Enjoy the fresh food and the beautiful nature

Tragjas river, Vlore

Many tourists will go there only to try the good taste of roasted meat, as it is a village that deals mainly with farming. But there is still much to discover for one of the villages of Vlora, named Tragjas.

The village of Tragjas is located in the gorge between the mountains of Shashica and Karaburun, ascending to the Park of Llogara. With a mountainous relief it is distinguished for natural landscapes with high values, as well as an undamaged nature. The village is a suburban point and beyond it there are no other inhabited centers. Very little has been affected by the urban developments of the last twenty years. It has a small population (of 1435 inhabitants), compared to other villages in the territory of Vlora.

Activities to do:

The tragedy shows potential, related to the development of agro-tourism. The position in relation to the mountain of Shushica and the direct connections with the park of Llogara, make it an ideal point for the sport of mountaineering and outdoor hiking “trekking”. Almost untouched natural values -for recreational activities on nature observation (birdwatching), monuments and ruins of the old village with characteristic architecture -for cultural activities such as: organized visits to monuments, cultural and traditional festivals.

WHAT TO SEE

• Castle of Gjon Bocar (located on a hill above the plain of Dukat, Tragjas and the village of Radhima)

• Ivzori (located in Tragjas)
