Not to mention the delicious food with organic ingredients, whether your choice is qofte (Albanian-Style meatballs), pizzas, meat or salads, it is guaranteed you will be longing for these tastes and quality food once you live the country. Everything is made to complement the beer and the lively vibe of the place. 5. A ‘xhiro’ at the promenade of Korca

If you’ve spent even a single day in Albania, you know that Albanians are in love with their ‘xhiros’. What is a xhiro you might ask? It comes from the Italian word giro, and its meaning in this context is ‘taking a stroll’. It’s something that all Albanians are accustomed to, and its genesis is from the dark era of communism in Albania. So every evening, no matter the season, Albanians gather their friends, family, neighbors, and whomever they can find, and take a stroll, usually on the main promenade that stretches from the main Cathedral to the 360 Tower. Just slow walking from side to side, gossiping, enjoying the different aromas of the restaurants around, and just living life. Every day, 365 days a year (sometimes 366), from youngings to elders, and everyone in between.
