The Melcan Tekke is one of the most important and oldest religious structures in Albania, dating back to the mid-17th century, specifically in 1640. It is located on the top of a hill in the western area of the hills at the entrance to the city of Korca, about 2.5 km from the Pogradec-Korca national road.

The founder of this Tekke was Hysen Ali Dede , an important personality in the history of this area. The Melcani Tekke is one of the 5 oldest Tekkes in the country and among the oldest Tekkes in the Korca region, which contains all the components and parameters for which a religious structure is called such.

This Tekke has had an important role in Albanian patriotism. It was represented by its clergy in the League of Prizren , one of the most important events in the history of the Albanian nation, making a notable contribution. Also, during the time of the national liberation movement, the Tekke of Melcan was called the “Heart of Albanianism” and the “Monument of the National Movement” by the patriots of that time.

In 2014, the Tekke of Melcan, left in oblivion for a long time, was rebuilt by His Grace, Haxhi Baba Sadik Ibro, into a magnificent Tekke, turning it into a model of its kind and a pride for the entire province of Korca, without religious differences. Today, this Tekke is not only a religious center, but is also a point of tourist interest for many local and foreign visitors.
