The Paleochristian Basilica of Lin, a monument from the 6th century, represents one of the most important works of cultural heritage in Albania. The Basilica of Lin was discovered in 1967 by an expedition from the museum of Pogradec. The basilica consists of a nave, two chapels with apses to the south and north, a baptistery, an atrium, and a four-apse chapel. The entire complex has floors paved with mosaics displaying geometric, floral, and zoomorphic motifs, where religious elements prevail. The Lin mosaic is a precious cultural heritage and at the same time considered the most distinctive among all other mosaics with religious characteristics.Today, this basilica, along with its mosaic, has become an interesting tourist attraction. The exhibition of the Lin mosaic has already attracted the attention of foreign tourists, making Lin one of the most visited destinations in Albania.
