The Museum of Dibra, located in Peshkopi, is a key cultural and historical institution in Albania’s Dibra District. Housing over 2,000 objects across three pavilions, it offers a rich exploration of the area’s heritage.
Situated in the heart of Peshkopia near the Black Drin River, the museum showcases historical and ethnographic materials. Notable figures like national hero Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu, Iliaz Pashë Dibra, and Dom Nikollë Kaçorri are prominently featured.
The archaeological pavilion covers periods from the Neolithic to the 2nd and 3rd centuries BC, displaying artifacts like ancient storage chests and pithos. The ethnographic pavilion highlights traditional Dibra culture through everyday objects, traditional clothing, and agricultural tools.
The museum’s decorated fireplace and other exhibits offer an immersive experience, making it a vital window into Dibra’s cultural and historical contributions to Albania.
