The Archaeological Museum of Korca was established in 1985 and took on a broader and more complete form after its organization in 1990. This museum is located in two characteristic Korça houses from the early 19th century, which have been declared cultural monuments for their architectural values.
The Archaeological Museum is unique in its kind. It focuses on the prehistory of the southeastern area, starting from the Neolithic period and up to the developed phase of the Iron Age. This museum represents several important prehistoric settlements such as Maliqi, Potgoria, Dunavesi, Trajan and concludes with a small section of post-prehistoric periods. The Archaeological Museum of Korça has about 1200 objects on display, most of which date from the Neo-Eneolithic, Bronze and Iron Ages.
