Visit Valbona Valley, the most beautiful National Park in Albania

Valbona village, is part of the Administrative Unit Margegaj, Municipality of Tropoja. This village is part of the Valbona National Park. It is located in the northern part of the municipality of Tropoja and is a very attractive area that has attracted for years adventures from around the world and is one of the most sought after Albanian destinations this year.

The village of Valbona is almost 1000 meters above sea level and lies on a gravel created by the river of the same name. Currently, the village of Valbona has about 60 houses, mainly old two and three-storey towers with thick stone walls and characteristic alpine roofs with wooden planks. Some of them have been turned into hospitable inns and are very comfortable in any season. The owners of the house not only offer you a traditional place of accommodation but also offer local cuisine, made with organic and fresh ingredients.

Through this village passes the river “Valbona” with a length of about 50 km, one of the fastest rivers in the Alps of Northern Albania. The river originates from the mountains of Malësia e Madhe near the village of Rragam of Shala and passes after about two kilometers the border with the district of Tropoja. Where it differs from the cold and clear water like crystal, the picturesque waterfalls and canyons and the “trout” fish that grows in its waters have made Valbona one of the most beautiful and famous rivers in the whole country.
