Best beaches in Albania:
1. Ksamil Beach
Located just 15 minutes from Saranda, Ksamil is famous for its shallow turquoise waters and tiny offshore islands you can reach by boat or kayak. This beach is perfect for couples, families, and anyone looking to relax in calm surroundings.
Restaurants line the shore, offering grilled fish, mussels, and local wine. During July and August, it gets crowded, so arrive early or visit in June or September for more space.

2. Dhermi Beach
Dhermi sits along the Ionian coast and offers a mix of relaxed areas and vibrant beach clubs. The beach itself is long, pebbled, and surrounded by olive groves and rugged cliffs.
Sunbeds and umbrellas are available to rent, or you can find quieter corners if you prefer more privacy. It’s easy to get to from Vlora or Himara by car, and the drive down the Llogara Pass alone is worth the trip.

3. Gjipe Beach
Gjipe is a secluded beach hidden between dramatic canyon walls, reachable only by foot or boat. The 30-minute hike from the parking area can be intense in summer heat, but the payoff is a peaceful beach surrounded by nature.
There’s no road access, limited shade, and no restaurants, so bring your own water and food. Perfect for camping or day-trips for those who enjoy hiking and off-the-beaten-path adventures.

4. Jale Beach
Jale is a crescent-shaped bay known for its clear water, music festivals, and laid-back atmosphere. You’ll find a mix of beach bars, clubs, camping areas, and eco-friendly accommodations.
It’s especially popular with younger crowds and backpackers, but the beach remains clean and well-maintained. You can rent paddleboards or just relax and enjoy the Ionian views.

5. Livadhi Beach
Located just north of Himara, Livadhi Beach offers a long and wide shoreline with both free zones and managed areas. The water is crystal clear, and the beach rarely feels overcrowded, even during the high season.
You’ll find plenty of space to lay down a towel or rent a sunbed from one of the nearby cafes. Traditional Albanian dishes like tave dheu and grilled calamari are served fresh in family-run taverns steps away.
6. Borsh Beach
Borsh is one of the longest beaches in Albania, stretching over 7 km along the Ionian coast. It’s ideal if you’re looking for wide-open space, mountain views, and fewer tourists.
The beach is backed by olive groves and has a few small bars, but the area remains quiet and undeveloped. Bring your own beach gear if you want a peaceful, full-day experience.

7. Himara Beach
Himara’s main beach sits right in the center of town, making it an easy choice for travelers staying in the area. It has calm, shallow waters, clean sand, and plenty of facilities including restaurants, bars, and hotels.
It’s a good option for families and travelers looking for a beach that’s walkable from town. You can enjoy a beach morning, then explore Himara’s old castle or grab dinner with a sea view.
8. Mirror (Pasqyra) Beach
Located about 15 minutes from Saranda, Mirror Beach is known for its deep blue water and white stone cliffs. Access is via a steep, narrow road, so drive carefully and go early to find parking.
There are a couple of beach bars and umbrellas for rent, but the area remains fairly natural and unspoiled. It’s a popular photo spot thanks to its vibrant water and rugged surroundings.

9. Rana e Hedhun (Thrown Sand)
Rana e Hedhun, meaning “Thrown Sand,” is a quiet beach near the town of Shëngjin in northern Albania. The area is unique because of its steep sand dunes that meet the sea.
It’s peaceful, less touristy, and perfect if you’re looking to escape crowds without going too far from a town. Sunsets here are dramatic, and the walk down the dunes makes for a fun, short adventure.
10. Drimadhe Beach
Just south of Dhërmi, Drimadhë offers a quieter alternative while still being close to beach bars and guesthouses. The beach has both rocky and sandy sections, making it good for swimming and relaxing.
It’s usually less crowded than Dhërmi, and some parts are almost empty even during high season. A few small hotels and bars are nearby, but bring snacks and water if you’re staying for the day.
