Welcome to Hotel Germenji, the first of its kind in this region of Albania. We’re talking about the region of Germenj, a small but full of traditions village halfway between the city of Erseke and the town of Leskovik in Southeastern Albania.

But this isn’t just a hotel, but it’s also a bar, restaurant, farm and a camping site. We got the chance to visit this place in the winter of 2024, and absolutely loved our comfortable stay, and we got to enjoy some amazing home-cooked meals!
The Bar
The bar at Hotel Germenji is the same you’d expect at any bar-cafe in Albania, where coffee is the dominant choice of drink. You can also enjoy fresh juices, soft drinks, and more. If you’re going from Permet to Korca or vice-versa, and need to take a break, Hotel Germenji would be the perfect half-way spot between the two towns.
The Restaurant
We had the chance to try the restaurant’s offerings in December of 2023, and let me tell you, it was amazing! A lot of places will claim to be organic, or ‘bio’, but this one would be double-organic! Most of the items that the restaurant uses to cook are grown in the farm itself, or sourced from local farmers around the restaurant.

And of course, different seasons call for different dishes, so depending on the season you visit, you’ll have the chance to try some amazing local dishes!
The Hotel
As mentioned above, Hotel Germenji is situated almost halfway between Permet and Korca. If you happen to be on the road at dusk, it would be a great idea to catch some sleep at Hotel Germenji. Although the roads are now paved, it’s not recommended to drive at night due to the zig zag terrain, which you want to avoid. And where can you get a better rest than in a place surrounded by woods, at a high altitude?

The Campsite
The campsite at Hotel Germenji is generally open from spring to autumn. Once the snow starts, the campsite is usually closed. Of course, the friendly staff will most certainly accommodate the daring, but it’s probably best to just rest at the hotel!

Overall, Hotel Germenji is the perfect spot for any season. It’s halfway location between Korca and Permet make it an ideal destination for year-round activities!
